Pic too big for forum

Hi just got this message when trying to upload a photo to All creatures great and small. Image is too big 3.3MB needs to be under 2MB, how do I make it less I tried cropping it but that only got it down to 2MB, thanks in advance.

Resize it using photo-editing software, or upload it elsewhere. I use www.imgur.com for most these days - it's free and easy.

Resize it to 750px wide by proportional depth. That should fix it.

Yes, I vote for resizing it, rather than hosting it elsewhere purely to get around the size limit. I find it quite annoying when people embed truly massive images from elsewhere that take an age to download and display just because it's easier than resizing them. Note that I'm not against hosting it somewhere other than the forum, just against massive images.
