Hi, can anyone suggest where to buy a good lighting system for taking shots of smallish products, up to "chair" size probably maximum.

Just acquired a Nikon D3300 and having some good results with outdoor shots but trying to take good quality close up shots of inanimate objects indoors I am having no luck, very disappointed with the results and been advised a good lighting set-up is the way to go (part of).

Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

What does the background need to be?

White or neutral.

The top one with four softboxes should be more than enough (two should suffice; you need some modelling) - though the table part is no good for a chair. The thing you have to sort out now is the background. A roll of white backing paper propped up on something should do it.

Then you play with everything until you get a nice white background with the subject exposed properly...
