6d and grey imports
Discussion
Recently I dropped my 600d and 24 105 in a river which they didn't seem to like. I had them insured but frankly the insurance is being a pain to get paid out and has hit me for a massive excess. I don't see the point in going in at the same level as I think I have learnt enough to benefit from something a bit better. I find myself looking at the 6d as the dynamic range increase of full frame is a big draw but I need something pretty rugged as most of my stuff is travel based. On of the bigger bug bears with my old camera is constant miss focusing so I'm hoping the cross type and later algorithms will fix that. But between rugged and improved AF has left me wondering if the 7dmk2 would be a better fit? I dont need amazing AF really as im not doing lots of spports so wonder if the 6D would be better as an all rounder?
Looking round the net I have found a few grey importers like expidite electronics which seems to deal with the only pitfall of grey imports which is warranty. Has anyone bought from a site like this or actually used their warranty? Their prices are like uk second hand prices so I'm keen to save some money if I can. I'm just a suspicious sort and if something seems to good to be true....

Thanks I'll have a look at HDEW. The shop is a bit far but It's worth something just to get a recommendation.
I have a tokina 11-16 which is EF-s that I'll miss. Such a great fast lens. But the pay off the way I see it is 24mm in APC-c is worth 15mm effectively in full frame. I know I have that backwards but I'm sure you see what I mean. In cities I see this as a serious positive as 24mm on aps-c is no where near wide enough. The other lens I have is an EF 70-300 which should fit but I hate it and want to trade it in really. The only thing I would miss is having something fast for night stuff so may be tempted to pick up a prime as I don't have 24-70 F2.8 money. I think that rearrangement ends up not too bad. If I swap the 70-300 in for something nicer it will cost. If not it wont.

+1 for HDEW.Good to deal with - recently got 5D3 from there - no problems.
Main plus was several good reviews when checking them out, the warranty, and existence of a physical shop (not that I used this as ordered online).
