I have just scanned through through "the christening" photos on the BBC web site.

Ok, they will be crushed for quality .... but

Are we impressed or not?


Secondly, do we care?

Rule of thirds looked good, photos.... family portraits, can you actually make those look good?

Overall personal impression, a bit bland but probably quite hard to do for what they are.

I dont think it matters, Royal photos arent an opportunity to dial in some portrait professional and Testino isnt really a photographers photographer either though, gets people in, takes photo, gets out, sends bill.

The ones that Kate did on her 550D were I guess 'better' in the bokeh but again, it needs to be a record of stuff and not a 'here's my signature image'

I guess he couldnt have rerun the Diana couch one either or else it'd be 'off with his head'
