Afternoon all,

I'm looking at buying a wide angle lens for my 100d. So far I think I have my choices narrowed down to either the Canon 10-22mm or the Sigma 10-20mm F4.

Just wondered if any of you have experience with either of these lenses? I was also looking into either going through somewhere like MPB for a good condition second hand lens to save some money or even ebay and if buying lenses from ebay is a good idea?

Any advice would be most welcome as I'm quite new to photography and this will be my second lens after the kit 18-55.

Thanks

NTEL

I went for the Sigma 10-20. Love it! I'm fairly new to this photography lark too.

Also consider the Canon 10-18, gets good reviews and is cost effective.

Sigma 10-20 is a great lens for the price. I use it every time people want photos of the inside of their hotel/B&B/Biz etc

This sorta thing:

ETA... it's a smaller room than it looks - I needed to big it up!

IIRC there are two versions of the 10-20, one faster than the other. ATBE take the faster one.

I think my budget at the moment excludes the f3.5 one. How do people find the build quality consistency of sigma's? I've heard they can vary but have no first hand experience?

AFIk the f3.5 one is bigger, more expensive and .. faster. its actually optically poorer at any equiv apertures to the slow one.

Unless you want f3.5 then get the slower one. Or the tokina 11-16

I have the slower 10-20mm. I don't use it a great deal but the build quality seems fine to me. The front element seems very small but that's why it's slow I guess.

Surprised the Tokina 11-16mm hasn't had a mention. Love mine. Excellent IQ and bomb proof.

Don't know much about Tokina Lenses. Will have a look though.
