action camera gps time/distancelapse

im thinking of getting an action camera for filming a road trip and rather than using a time based lapse recording method and then having huge sections of road works traffic jams etc a distance solution would be better. i found triggertrap that would work with my a6000 But id rather a separate device rather than using my proper camera.

The issue is i havent found an action camera that does distance based lapse photography has anyone seen one?
