nikon d90 repair or replace
Discussion
My d90 recently went wrong so I sent it off to Nikon for repair. Well the quote for repair has come back at £200.
Problem is they are only worth about £200, so I'm left with a quandary.
Pay for the repair or upgrade to say a d7000 and sell the d90 for parts.
The d90 is in excellent condition and not been used that much, nikon will do a full clean and calibration at the same time so it should come back as good as new.
But.... the d90 is now an old camera and arguably something newer would be a better camera for not much more money.
Alternatively I could sell all my nikon kit and get something mirror less!
I don't take huge amount of photography and I'm not very good but the photos I can take with my d90 were night and day better than what I can take with a compact....
Thoughts?
Thanks

I have a Nikon kit including a D90, and recently added a Fuji XE2 based kit. Pros of repairing:
No learning curve
Don't need to sell and upgrade
you're already happy with it
Difficult/expensive to get wide angle/narrow DOF with mirrorless. So your shooting style will also play a part.
Cons:
Sensor technology is massively moved on since the D90. If you do any low light photography, or even want subtle tones, the Fuji is light years ahead of the D90. I do a fair bit of gig photography. With the D90 I'd cap the auto ISO at 1600 and accept the darks were going to be blocky, lots of grain, and colours washed out. With the Fuji, 3600 ISO looks pretty amazing.
Mirrorless has greater DOF for a given effective focal length (pedants, stay away...)
Mirrorless EVF is great but takes getting used to and there is a little lag/difficult to take rapid action shots
Why not keep your existing Nikon gear and buy a lightly used, more recent DX body? No learning curve, no lens replacement, but better image quality?
