I've just 'upgraded' to Win10. There have been a few software problems, especially with printer drivers.

One irritation has been minor problems with Photoshop7 and PaintShopPro. Just little things like fault windows needing to be cancelled, difficulty importing scans and no way of printing off images to high quality. So I was going to buy the current Elements but got an offer through email for Serif PhotoPlus X8 for £20.

I know no one who uses it and had not read any mention on it. But thought I'd give it a try.

It is really quite remarkable value. I've only just started using it but the interface is intuitive. It appears to do everything Elements does, including RAW, which I haven't yet tried.

One advantage is that there's a quick method of modifying images, like red-eye, and there's more hands on techniques.

Lots of filters as well.

If you know Photoshop or PSP, you will start using it straight away. One or two little differences that slow you first of all, but they soon disappear.

I use images on websites so Photoshop7 was all I need, so the current Elements would have been perfect for me I think. But at a price.

I'm impressed. I know that some of the fun is that it is new software, so I don't take it for granted.

Anyone else use it?

There's lots of instructional/help video on YouTube.

Been a big fan of Serif software for many, many years.

I've got Photoplus X8 but not installed it yet, X6 was great so looking forward to trying X8 at some point.
