After finding out that I didn't have to spend hundreds to get a remote for the camera I snapped one up thinking it's always nice to have one for those 'non-wobbly' shots.

I stuck the camera on the tripod with the 70-300mm on and fired a load of shots off with the remote. The best one I feel was this one, which I've played with in photoshop a little as well

Quite pleased with that

Graham, you need to get the self portrait thread revived with that one!

Can I ask, is that the 70-300G lens you are referring to? I'm interested in your opinion on it if it is...

Haha, will do

The lens is the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED and is a fantastic lens, the auto focus is a little slow and noisy but it's a great lens

Monchrome?, how much of RGB did you use?. I mean how much red, how much yellow etc. I know they have to roughly match up to 100.
Youv'e inspired me with that on so i think i'll have a go.
Where's the rest of your face though?, Not shy are you?
If i can stick my mug on here.....

I like it too, great effect I thought.

All I did, was take my b&w image in photoshop and in levels, put the last input level down to about 30.

That's just a resized shot (no cropping). I was on full 300mm and my camera was only about a 2m away so that's how it came out of the camera

I cranked it back to 155mm and took this one....

You've not seen the 'failed' pictures I think I had a shot of my chest, the wall, my chin

Also, where did you find all the settings for it? I can only find 'remote' and 'remote & timer'

I have just 'made' a remote from my Palm
using this www.natemc.com/nikontrigger.php

Have not tested it out yet.

will let you know but I don't think the results will be on par with Graham (especially if I stand in fron of the camera.)

really usefull for me as I work for Palm (palmOne)
and use a Treo 650 smart phone so its always with me, now I can just point it at my D70 and hey presto!!
