Hi,

Is it possible to make the SB-800 fire remotely (off the body of the D70) without having it on the hot shoe, or more than one SB-800?

I got the impression the D70 has its own built in remote flash TX system… but from the manual I cant figure out how to make it work.

Regards,

Sam

Yes it can be done; it tells you how to do it in the D70 hand book.
Sorry i can’t remember the settings off the top of my head.

My D70 manual is about somewhere but I cant lay my finger on it… doh

I will keep looking, I thought it may have been a setting on the flash itself.

Dad just mentioned something potentially fun to try – sound triggering… will the D70 or SB-800 trigger with a loud noise?? Would be great taking pics of things blowing up with fire crackers…

I think you need to set the flash to SU-4 or remote, then have the camera in commander mode.

Sorry for the hijack but would that work on the SB-600 too? Does that, also, mean I don't need the extension cable wot I bought?

Thanks,
Phil.

Can the D70 / SB-800 fire on sound?
