Testing is Monday, Tue & Wed.

Teams are expected to be: Jordan (Un-confirmed on number of days but likely all 3) Renault (All 3
days) Red-Bull (Monday) McLaren (Tuesday)

Apparently it's free entry.

Anyone going?
Anyone been before?
Is it worth going?

I would really be interested in getting some good photos...

The best place to get photos at Silverstone in on the inside of the track by turn one and the pit exit. It's hard to get close anywhere else (400mm+ lens needed).

It's about the best opportunity you'll get without a press pass. Only downside is there can be a LOT of waiting round.

I have some pics here, here and here

You really need a 400mm lens to get close shots

BTW...it's worth going just to HEAR them, let alone take photos!

Considering Silverstone can be freezing in June I think it will be bloody cold this coming week...

I have my 100-400 IS and 2x at the ready...

However, as it may snow, this may be off - if I go at all I will pop up from work on Tuesday...

testing at Silverstone is well worth a visit, especially if you have never been to an F1 race before. There are usually very few people about and you can wander around the pit lane and all round the track.

It is hard to get photos at Silverstone though, from memory good places are inside of turn one (go round the outside of the pitlane and there is a circuit access point for emergency vehicles from memory) and the BRDC stand (isn't usually open at testing though).

Last time I got right down behind the tyre wall on the outside of turn one, (inside the crash netting) until a marshall came and give us an earfull! Great view though!
