Hi

I've got one of these and it's been playing up for the last 60 months despite (or maybe because of...) a few repair attempts by a local technician. Works for a while and then just stops at the point it;s got to and refuses to read anything. Have also noticed it's scoring the DVD's - only in a small way, but probably contributing to the problems I'm having.

Question is this - bought it over 2 years ago and it was very highly rated at the time. However, with technology advances, would I be better replacing with a cheap new one that's as good as the 2 year old Sony or battling with what could be continuous repairs...

If replacement is due, any recommendations (I like Sony...)

Thanks
Jem

Good audio gear is always good audio gear! However you might consider binning the decoder thingy and buying another 5.1 decoder and plugging your existing speakers into it?
