While talking to my lad at the weekend, he asked what was in my bag. He was surprised when I showed him.

Heres mine, but not shown is the Portaflash reflectives, D70 and 18-70 plus the rest of the stuff that we may need. Just lenes and flashes. Whats in yours?

No picture I'm afraid but my bag contains

D70
18-70 Kit Lens
70-300 Sigma APO Super Macro Lens
some UV and skylight filters
Lens hoods for both lenses
Lens Pen
USB Cable

Oh, and the D70 Manual!

However I'm adding to this lot at an alarming rate - basically whenever my credit card cools down sufficiently, I scorch it again!

Quite a lot usually, although depends which bag I take.

This should give some idea of what I carry when I don't have to walk too far, although I need to find room for my 1Ds II and 24-70 f2.8 lens now

I normally try to slim down what I take with me, but normally decide that I'll end up missing a great shot because I left a particular bit of gear at home, so it all goes in the bag This does get quite tiring though - I was knackered after lugging 16kg of gear up and down the Peak District a few weeks ago!

I think me "wants" list is longer than the bag list!

D70
20mm
85mm
180mm
Tokina 28-70
lens hoods rattling around
spare batteries
spare spare batteries
PK-13
Remote plip
8 filters
monopod or camcane or tripod or mini tripod
grey card
meter
cleaning cloth
pen
scrappy brochure that I've written all over
couple of airline tags/Skywards card
packet of dust caps for the car!
remote release which doesn't work with this camera
...
Luckily I've turfed out a load of stuff I don't need so there's room for the three more lenses I want, the extra CF cards I'll be getting, the reversing ring I want and another lens that'll be a useful macro set up, the other old lens I've got when I find the right Adaptall mount, not to mention the flashguns and leads that are on the list......

No pic I'm afraid but I normally carry:

2x EOS-1Ds
28 GB worth of microdrives
24-70 F2.8 L
70-200 F2.8 L IS lens
300mm F4.0 L IS stabilised lens

sometimes a laptop goes under the seat if someone needs the pictures urgently. I feel "equipmentally challenged" in comparison to some here

It's a mixture of about 12GB of new drives and older ones that are only used as reserves

Sometimes when my shoulders ache I think too much, other times when I've either forgotten to bring the right lens or I find a newish toy, then it's too little

I recently treated myself to a second hand 300 f2.8 to help with the wildlife photogrpahy so this season I'm mostly walking round with this beastie experimenting with shallow DOF. Can be super effective. More wildlife I'm afraid as the car weekend did not come off

Out of interest Dave, what do you think of this lens? I have no experience of any other telephotos so have no idea if it's a good-un or not!
