So last year i asked a few questions in this forum about going to the Yukon (its in Canada, I had to google at first too!) where by a small group of us took a float plane into the Yukon territoity to camp for 6 nights in the middle of the wilderness and take a few snaps.

Turned into quite an adventure, rained almost every day and night (except 1) and even snowed in August, but I never got to bore you with the results, so thought id share a few below.

If anyone gets the chance to goto the Yukon i can't recommend it enough, its a magical place to be.

Nice work. It's much harder to find rewarding landscapes in conditions like that than in cliche chocolate box places.

Really nice shots.
The Norther Lights one is great, and I really like 4 and 5 - especially 4 with the little patches of colour with the rest of it almost monochrome.

Looks like a pretty imposing place.

Thanks for the feed back, interestingly only shot 4 was black and white, all the others are genuine effect and not converted to black and white, except photo 3, it just rained a lot!

Also to note, I randomly took this vacation from a 'meet up' style email, so if you sign up to them and see something your tempted by, just go for it, was a great experiance!

Great stuff.

If you ever get the chance - read Klondike: The Last Great Gold Rush, 1896-1899 by Pierre Berton. Excellent read and will cover stories of the people, the places and the hardship of the frontier land. Ripping up the floor boards in the bar to recover gold dust that's dropped through from peoples pockets is one that stands out for me.
