Inspired by Henry Catchpole's Evo Video (https://youtu.be/DtaTXMyJcpc - see link) of his travels through the Cairgorn Mountains in an Aston Martin N430, a small group of car enthusiasts decided to see if Henry's claim of 'Scotland's Best Driving Road' was everything he explained it to be.

Safe to say, it was - and although the weather could have been better, it still made for an epic trip.

The video below follows us from Braemer to Grantown On Spey, along the old military road. Once you get up there, there really is little traffic (especially this time of year) and the buildings are very few and far between.

We had a variety of Go Pros set up in each car, and a DJI drone for the aerial footage. Nothing planned, just a point and shoot at something that looked interesting on the day.

Below is the footage compiled together, which is really my first attempt at putting together a video like this. Personally, I am quite pleased with the outcome, but please critique the editing, as it might not look the same, through another persons eyes.

Would highly recommend taking the trip up to Grantown on Spey as they certainly are some of the best, if not the best roads I have ever come across.

I used to drive those roads in my spare time when I was working in Aberdeen in the late 90s. They really are fantastic.

A little small in some places, but generally pretty fast flowing. A beautiful place in the world.

It needs more "substance", a story.
I skimmed through it because it's all repetitive. Don't be afraid of comments/talking/interaction between drivers etc, that would make it much more interesting.
And it's "Scotland's" smile

I'm sorry if it sounds harsh but I'm just being honest, you asked for feedback. The editing is actually very nice and it's a shame that the content is lacking.

Impressed by the editing and good choice of music - really suits. If my first video ended up like yours id be very happy. As previously said maybe a little lacking in content

Not bad at all, though cross fades would make the transitions less abrupt and longer clips would help too. The shots from inside the cars didn't in any way convey a sense of excitement, it all looked quite relaxed, although the Porsche driver's shiny skin made it look as if he was sweating.

I would echo the point about there being no story.

I would have been inclined to ditch the music and do an explanatory voice over, otherwise it's really just a collection of moving images.

Thanks for the comments, and to be honest they echo the thoughts we had during and after the trip.

Commentary required, more interaction with people / location / places etc.

Will know for next time!

Needs some car noises in the video, having only music removes the viewer from the driving which is the focus of this whole video
