Ive just bought a Drift Stealth to replace my Drift HD camera, mainly because of the compact size of the stealth. About half the size of the older HD model.

I have a couple of concerns though,

It seems to get quite hot when in standby mode, never happened with old HD model !.
Battery life, the old model has a removable battery so I can carry couple of spares, new stealth has batt built in , claims 3 hrs recording time in 30fps 1080p , I wonder how this will work in cold conditions as i mainly use cam for skiing.

Always been impressed with the footage from my drift camera, and has more features than GoPro for less ££ ,

Anyone using a Stealth for some feedback ?

Thanks Dave

I bought a 2nd hand Drift stealth to use as a dash cam but the battery was dying within few minutes. Good I could return it. I would never again buy a camera with built in battery...

That is my concern that the battery life won't live upto claims , esp in cold climate .
Think I'll find room for old cam with spare batteries, just in case .

I have the stealth 2 mounted on my commuter handlebars and I intend to take it skiing in March.

My ride to work is approx 40 minutes and I doubt I can use it both ways on two consecutive days without the battery fully expiring.

I'll find out how it performs next week,

Be a shame if batt life lets it down as it seems a very neat package, wifi connection to I phone, remote on/off/mode, waterproof, swivel lense , and easy to use (big plus for me ! )

3 hr claim, if it manages half that in 0 degrees will be acceptable.
It does seem to eat battery in stand by though, and get hot ! (need to turn wifi off !), old Drift HD uses v little until recording.

Paper Lawyer .. 40 mins x 4 is all but 3hrs , pretty good performance ?

Hmmm, but I suspect I may get get less than 3 x 40 mins. I shall see this week.

It would appear that I had been rather pessimistic. I have ridden for approx 160 minutes so far this week and the Drift Stealth 2 showed a battery level of 0% just as I arrived to work this morning. Taking into account 5-10 minutes of faffing about, before and after each ride, with the camera on, I suspect I have achieved 10 minutes short of the 3 hours target and, let's not forget, the camera may have had a few more minutes of life left in it. So 3 hours seems to be spot on.

I had a Drift for my motorcycle helmet which had very poor battery performance and then when I used it in my car it just died. Took it back, got a new one and the battery life much better. I like the drift for its excellent picture quality and neat size for a helmet.
It's a fiddle to learn but once mastered it's easy. Charging takes a long time and the battery life depletes quickly if left. Fingers crossed this one won't die on me.
Does anyone else find it takes ages to download footage?
