Slightly annoyed, I have a 2 bay Synology NAS which is then backed up to an external HDD which is kept at the office. There is an old NAS & at least 1 other external HDD around with many of my photos on.

Typically, several photos have corrupted & it must have happened BEFORE the NAS was backed up as the copies are also corrupt.

Of the tens of thousands of photos I have, these are of our kids 2014 1st day of school & our lads 11th birthday frown

Is there any way of recovering corrupt files? The school pics I have JPEG & RAW, both corrupt, no idea why this has even happened?

I would try running a recovery program on the SD card but the card would have been formatted & overwritten many times in the last 2 years.

Lexar ImageRescue is good at recovering files:

Mine came free with a Lexar memory card.

Will that recover corrupt files from my HDD though?
