photo adjustment

Looking for a bit of help please.. I want to turn the panoramic photo below in to a canvas, however the colour of the sky has dark patches in places. I think the canvas would look better if the sky colour was similar (or the gradient change was less obvious) across the whole picture, but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Would anyone be able to help please?

Try this, have smoothed out the dark and light areas towards the left end but left in all the flare from the sun.
