I'm a great fan on the Canon Ixus, having owned several variants, both digital and wet.

There is a new varient on the market... The Ixus 700.

Has anyone got one yet? If so what's it like? Only thing that's putting me off at present is the change in media from CF to SD. But the 7Mp res looks appealing, and yes I know that you are limited by the resrictions of lens quality.

I'd say chip/pixel size.

If it's anything like the other IXUS models you will get a very nice camera with lots of useful functions.

The IXUS range always gets good reviews, and is well respected.

Summary here:www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_sd500.asp

but they have not done a review yet...

Why do you want one?

Think it will make you a better photographer?

Think again.

Utilise what you have, when you grow out of that - you will know, and the upgrade path will be clear!

Edited to say - it's a very nice piece of kit ,so if money's no object carry on ............
