I realise a major problem is the wing tip extending into the picture from the top, and the exposure is not spot on, but after an crappy weekend at RIAT, when two out of the three days I was ill, I want to recover what I can! smile

Simple to remove the intruding wingtip with Photoshop. With a bit more work you could probably extend the pic to add in the "missing" wingtips if you wanted.
Improving the exposure is simple too.

If you send me the original file I can run it through photoshop for you

You're probably thinknig - grr, if only I'd turned the camera to portrait...

I'd fix the exposure, clone out the bit of wingtip over the smoke trail and crop both sides. All easy.

Cheers I have Photoshop and Lightroom.
Will have a play at lunchtime.
I have not really scratched the surface with Photoshop, I will have a bash and see how I get on.
Thanks

Use the clone tool with a large-ish soft-edged brush to get rid of the wingtip. Adding a "levels" adjustment layer will allow you to play about with the exposure until it looks right to you.

You don't even need a layer, just hit Ctrl-L and do it. Ctrl-M for Curves.

You can do it that way, but I prefer to use layers so that I can change it later, or adjust sections using a layer mask on the levels layer.

Always so many ways of doing things with Photoshop. I used the healing brush on the wingtip, worked a treat.
