I thought I'd start a new thread to avoid hijacking Podie's competition one

I think as long as folk use the "over 18" iconthingamabob and maybe post "special" items as links instead of imbedded piccies, no problem...
Agreed - like most people who use PH, I tend to have a browse during lunch at work, and I don't think HR really care too much if the model is well lit and the shot is well composed

I think the recent shots from bacchus180 and Scooby are really great, and I'd love to see more - not just for the obvious reasons, but also because they're interesting and educational to look at from a lighting/composition point of view too - especially alongside the lighting diagrams that Bacchus provided. I'd just like to know whether a thread is work-safe before I open it, or whether I need to save it until I get home.

Thanks Ed. You are absolutely correct about the lighting/composition, we all know what a naked lady looks like, the objective of a photographer in my view is to be imaginative and creative in the presentation. In that regard we can all learn from each other.

My personal view here is that, yes while we understand why we're looking at the images and why they were taken, my boss or the guy who happens to walk past me, or the HR witch, may not.

With suitably warning headers, and/or (18) signs, I think it would be ok. However....what is to stop somebody posting such a picture half way down a thread, where the title is "nice pictures" and there is no (18) sign?

My view would be that, in such cases, a link to the picture would be very much preffered. And yes, it did take alot for me to be that sensible!!

She probably heard that. How long before your PC develops a "fault"

HR...not IT!
The way this company is, she does well to write an e-mail...

Ooops!

HR is probably worse - but less chance of her hearing!

Isn't the '18' smiley sufficient warning? If the boss is watching you, don't click on it.

Simpo - I agree with your thoughts, but what occured to me is that it's the poster who sets the Topic Icon (i.e. would put the 18 bit in) but further messages posted could contain images which you don't know are there

Thanks
Tony

Damn, I thought there was going to be some rudey photos in this thread looking at the title!

I don't know if you can edit it now, but you should put 'A discussion about...' infront of the title, otherwise the people who do not wish to see these sort of pictures will not be giving their opinion on this thread.

Me personally, a quick warning is more than sufficient. (Look at photography magazines such as Amatuer Pornographer )
