GoPro 5 Black - external power & mic?

Hi everyone

I am sure this will have been asked before but I'm not finding anything using the search function and a couple of phone calls today to retailers have left me (and sometimes them!) confused...

My previous Hero 2 got run over on a recent driving tour so I need to get a replacement before heading to Scotland next week. The Hero 2 allowed me to charge it from the cigarette lighter so it was powered all day and also connect an external mic which is mounted near the exhaust.

From looking at the 5 Black it appears I can use the cig lighter or the mic (via the adaptor) but not both. Is this correct?

Annoying, isnt it? Every generation of tech seems to now come with less and less ports...

Bit bulky, but it gives you a minijack mic input, and a USB port for charging

I had seen the adaptor for the mic but hadn't read the full details to realise it allowed the power cable to be attached as well. Now all I need to do is find a way of fixing it to my roll bar next to the camera or spend even more on a usb extension cable so I can hide it away somewhere.

One step forward, two steps backwards from Mr Go Pro...
