Apologies for a delay. I totally forgot to create this topic straight away after the last one finished!

The topic for December is "Simplicity".
"Simplicity: the fact that something is ordinary, traditional, or natural, and not complicated"

The most beautiful things in this world are simple. Try to capture it in daily objects, places, events.
I hope a little bit of snow will help with that too.

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and taken in the month of the competition.
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.
Entries and discussion on this single thread, please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo due to the PH squash factor. Links to larger versions are permissible.

As an arch-minimalist I thought I'd find this one easier.

Here is my effort. A rock covered in lichen peeping out of the wind-swept snow / ice.

Just a boat by Chris Marr, on Flickr

The best I could come up with.

It's harder than it looks 'simplicity' wobble

I like simplicity and I thought this should be a cool and easy topic... But more I thought about it, harder it got. I wasn't planning to submit anything for this month, but maybe that's better. I would probably fail to deliver anything interesting anyway wink

After reviewing your submissions I definitely have to go with noell35 and his ultra-minimalistic shot.

I really like the mystery behind this shot. Clean, minimalistic and really work with my imagination. Wondering how and when this was taken. I love the fact you don't even know where water and clouds meet. Lovely shot!

My second choice is the picture from Top Banana

Clean and simple, no drama. Gentle light and simple objects. I think it would be even better if the main subject did not have bubbles inside wink

Thank you guys for your submissions. Really lovely photos, all of them!
@noell35 it is your turn to decide what we do in January! wink

Wow. Thank you. I wasn't expecting that.
I'll have to have a think and then I'll start the new topic

Thanks both.

I've posted up the January competition. I assume a mod will sort out pinning it to the top of the page? Do I need to do anything else other than pick a winner?eek
