Learning the ropes?

Hi all,
Just recently I have found an afinity for taking piccies of things and have resurrected my Dad's old Canon AE-1 and would love to use it as Canon intended.
However, I know precisely sweet FA about old mechanical cameras and how they work and the various techniques used. My Dad had a whole shed load full of different lenses and accessories for it as well.
What I'm meaning to ask is wether anybody knows any good web sites that I can learn the basics from?
