I spent most of today at Outlon Park watching the British Superbikes and other supporting races.
It's the first time I've been to a bike event - The acceleration, speed and bravery of the riders was awesome.

Wicked photo's mate, love 'em. Caught some of the racing earlier today - just brilliant. Leon Haslem's run from the pits was truly awesome.

Great shots, but may I respectfully suggest that you become more familiar with the feather, one hundred per cent and smoother with the pen

Hmm. Not sure about that Emma.

On my screen the final images, post comnpression, are less good - by some way on high contrast 'blocky' bits, including the text - than they are when loading.

If I have correctly assumed that I know what you are referring to of course!

I must apologise. I've just downloaded one and had a peak in Photoshop and it looks excellent.

That's Ted's auto-resizing at work: the original shots as posted are more than 750 pixels wide I'll wager. A good illustration of why it's best to size the image for the task, especially at this level.

But - they are all excellent shots. Can't see anything wrong with them: losing my grip, must go and take some picky pills...

They are gob-smackingly great shots. I think that SDK should get on the blower to assorted bike mags as he has the ability to make a very tidy sum with this standard of photography.

Awesome! How do you find the 100-400L on the 20D for motorsport stuff?

It is going to be my next purchase for my 20D with any luck (and some saving!)

How do you get the colour so vivid? Mine always appear very pale compared to that. Thinking about it, I use film so this is probably the wrong thread to ask in!

The 100-400L IS lens is truly superb.
It's sharp at 400mm, colour and contrast are also excellent.

I haven't increased the saturation much, +4 at the most.
I use only Photokit Sharpener plug-in for Photoshop to sharpen my images. Most pale washed out problems are due to overexposure.

Lovely images. Great to capture the front wheel off the ground on accleration. You begin to relaise how committed these riders are
