I need to get a few photos of a glass trophy for some publicity material.

Got a very large white photography cube, a silver/white reflector, a Canon Eos40D, and a flash unit that swivels and tilts.

Any tips? So far my attempts have been hopeless. Even getting focus is tricky as the camera doesn't "see" the trophy.

I need something like this, but from several different angles

1) Manual focus if you can, don't rely on the camera autofocus

2) Two flash units to even out the illumination

3) Softboxes or diffusers for the flashes if possible to soften the light

Also dont forget to set your white balance, and manual exposure (the camera will under expose if left on auto).

Tricky. You need softboxes, pieces of black and white card and some IQ. You're not actually photographing the object, you're photographing everything around it.

You could of course ask a photographer to do it...!

It depends how much time you've got, but this it a great guide!
