Lightroom - Screen Sharpness

I edit and tweak in Lightroom on an iMac. I then catalogue and display final images in Photos (long story as to why!)

I've noticed that the images in Lightroom lacks a certain sharpness and crispness yet when I transfer to Photos or print them out, the images are pin-sharp and crisp.

Is this just a Lightroom 'thing' or is there a setting I'm missing?

... probably your preview resolution setting ?

Preferences > performance > develop

make sure 'smart preview' not checked.

Are you applying any export sharpening between Lightroom and Photos?
