First one is better but can you lose the bottom 80 odd and top 60 pixels and maybe rotate anticlock about 0.5 degrees?
That would leave the ropes at the bottom of the frame and get rid of the white bit that is distracting and the strip of trees which would probably unbalance it when the bottom has gone.
Chris.

I'd be tempted to move in much closer to all that distressed wood and create an abstract photo - lose the field of grass. Which aspect of the boat is the most interesting?
I like the detail in the timber and the dilapidated state of the boat, also the general scene which clearly shows it's had its last journey.
Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer as it was on the other side of the river!
I think I'm getting confused by the mass of wires and anchoring ropes, they're leading my eye out of the frame. Try cloning them out till you've only got one left. Also I think this may be one of those images that would benefit from a border that is faded/washed out/ or otherwise artistically treated so that you get a sof edge to the image rather than a hard one.
