And what level of experience/ability?

Im a lowly G5 user, trying to convince myself that if I bought a 20d, Id actually use my camera more than five times a year. (I am comitted, really :) just dont have the time to fully get stuck into what will hopefully be a life long hobby)

I'd love to join the local photography club but was told its full of geriatric digital hating codgers whos aspirations to excel are stagnant at best, with no real desire to achieve anything extraordinary. More like an old mens club :(

I should read more posts before posting, but are there many dedicated fun-photographers here?

I'd say that description is right for 95% of us, me included. As 406 says, you can get too anal about it!

Martin.

PS - Canon 20D and not enough lenses @D

Canon 10D.
Canon EOS 3.
Various lens from 17mm up to 400mm zoom.

Experience: Taken loads of photos.
Ability: Haven't a clue! That is I've no idea if I'm deluded or a closet David Bailey. At least I like some of my photos, and thats what counts I suppose.

That made me think, the working cameras that I have are:
Lubitel 2
EOS 620 } _ 15mm, 24mm, 50mm, 28-135mm IS, 100-300mm,
EOS 1 } 35-135, 70-210 and a wonky old 400mm
Mamiya 7 with 43, 65 and 150mm lenses

I'm trying really, really hard not to buy a large format camera but I think I'm going to fail pretty soon ! I think I'm too serious about this stuff sometimes ! (everyone else thinks "always" !!)

Sony Cybershot DSC-U20 (throw in the pocket 2MP jobbie)
Olympus OM-10 (Aging film camera, but it does the job)
Fuji Finepix S3500 (the good lady's camera, not a bad one at that..)
Samsung VP-D352 (Mini-DV camcorder.. recent addition to the collection!)

Do I get any decent photo's out of all of them? Sometimes, but they are few and far between!!!

D70 user

I'm very much in this for fun. Although I've sold a few photos I'm happiest taking pics of the family/pets etc and keeping a memory for life.

Still, I'm better than those wannabes at PR
