Currently I have a Fuji Finepix s602z, I've had it for a couple of years and am generally quite pleased with it. The only problem being it is quite big and bulky meaning it's a bit of an effort to take it anywhere.

The kind of photos I take are mainly car ones, quite a lot of point and shoot stuff but nothing too arty. The only setting I have really experiemented with on it is the shutterspeed one to take night photos in the snow.

I just bought my aunt a Canon Ixus 40 and it seems to do the job pretty well, producing nice photos, easy to use and very lightweight and portable. The video mode is also very good and the TFT display is a lot better than the s602z.

I'm not sure how much the s602z would fetch second hand, the Ixus seems about £300. The only thing it seems to be lacking is the 6x optical zoom of the Fuji, only a 3x one.

I borrowed the Ixus last night for my uni ball, unfortuantely the batteries were half flat already but I took a lot of photos with other lesser "miniature" cameras but appreciated I simply could not have taken my Fuji with me.

Anyone got any views on this?

I currently have an s602z, and have decided to complement it with an Ixus 700.

Have s602z and a Pentax Optio S5i which I bought for it's shirt pocket convenience. Picture quality is not as good as the s602.
