I have just got a RAW converter on a free CD from a photo mag so thought I'd take some pictures in RAW and see what all the fuss was about.

Quite pleased with the results, it seemed they were better quality shots :scratchchin:

Not much variety but most flowers in the garden seem to be past their best unfortunately.

The colour seems to have an unusual quality about it - are these straight shots or have you done any tweaks? Or is it just saturation?

A couple were minor tweaks (ie. saturation), originals are....

Your most welcome mate. I don't know an awful lot about the intricacies of photography but I know what I like and I like those. I think bold is good, especially colours. It certainly works for me.

Just wish a had some decent colour to photograph out here.

To be honest, I don't really know about the intricacies of photography either, I just take pictures of things I look nice, if other people like them then it's a bonus

I'm sure you can get some pictures of a camels or a Landy

I hear the gopher type creatures out there like boiled sweets

Boiled sweeties are like rocking horse droppings, I aint gonna be sharing them with no rodents!

I've taken a few shots, which are not really much cop, and certainly not up to the standard that many of the guys, and gals, set on this forrum. I might post em if I pluck up the courage though.

and if this Amarula cream i have found keeps going down the way it is, that could be sooner rather than later

Well we've all got to start somewhere

I learn a lot from the criticism I get from posting my pictures

...and I just read that you want critisism as well!...

I really like number 3 (the pink peony with the cloud) but if you could have grabbed just a little more depth of field on the bloom - you could sell it to a mag.

(probably not AutoSport though).

Ah yes, critisism is always welcome, everyone sees pictures differently to the next person which means there's lots of input for me to learn from

If it's a nice day tomorrow I may pop out into the garden and see if I can grab that third shot with a bit more DOF.
