Just a toe in the water...

I'm swapping e-mails with a bride-to-be (stoppit!) and she asked if I had another camera of equal quality in case the main one broke on the day...

I can borrow a Canon 10D at a push but wouldn't feel confident using it for an important occasion, and it doesn't have the lenses and flash I need.

If it's a deal-breaker, are there any PH D70-owners in Essex/Suffolk who might be prepared to lend me their body (stoppit!) for a day? It's highly unlikely to be used.

Just go and buy a D2X - you know you want to!

I'd offer to help, if I were a bit closer (honest!)

TBH even if the bride didn't ask about a second body, I don't think I would shoot any wedding without a backup camera, hell I don't even shoot motorsport without a second body.

All IMHO of course.

Cheers

When I get married, I think I'll insist on a back up body, too. Sounds like a great idea. Will keep her permanently too, methinks!

<Phnar, phnar>

Mrs Beano probably won't agree, though.

Oh - I see, a second Nikon? That'd be nice too!

Useless fact.

When Mrs Beano and I do finally agree where to get married (probably next year), it's more likely to be in the States than Essex/Suffolk border. Or maybe the Car-RIB-bean or Middle East or.... well who knows, but sadly not East Anglia (and I don't think we could possibly afford THAT level of expenses, before you ask, John!!! )

So if we can't get Get* or Two to do the important bit (and for some reason Mrs B doesn't think I'll be capable of taking a few snaps) perhaps we'll have to ask you, Derek! I'll bring over the spare body, and a couple of lenses, and the macro kit..... OK ?

* "get Get" - geddit?

No problem. I'll share with the bride and you can have the sofa. That way you only have to feed me

Intersting offer! I have 3 D70's to choose from so far, the nearest only 25 minutes away - but if he's out, I migt try my hand at a D100. Thanks; watch this space.

The power of PH eh?

Indeed! I may still want to borrow that ED of yours at some point Last ebay one I checked has gone silly money - currently £160+£7.50 postage. I missed one in Brentwood for £110 a couple of weeks back - gutted!
