Does anyone know of any digital compacts that can be had with a remote control, either included in package or that can bought separatly..

Would need something of the 4mp+ variety

Quite a few to look at then...strange that on a lot of websites no mention is made that something like a remote is available.

Like the look of the Pentax S5z, seen that for £209 without remote...is that a good price ??

Price is about as low as I have seen. Think I saw £206 once but probably much the same if P&P included. Ever changing though.

I have an S5i which has a page in the manual re a remote control though I don't recall seeing anyone advertising the remote unit - specialist 'to order' I expect. The manual seems top suggest there are 2 remote units available. Remote appears to simply control the shutter, with or with out a 3 second delay option used for the self timer. Remote unit "E" seems to have the facility to control the optical zoom (but not the digital zoom.

Hope this helps.

If you really fancy a camera that doesn't have R/C, a self-timer function is a fair substitute.

Depends on what it's being used for I guess...

Pixmania have it at £205 I think. Just waiting for the insurance company to let me go ahead and order the replacment for my S5i.

Reason for the question is that I've just got a hold of one of those suction mounts and I'm exploring the options of firing the camera whilst its attached somewhere on the car whilst driving along (slowly!!)

I'm replacing my Fuji F401 with something a little newer so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone so to speak....

I think we have some Olympus C5000 Zoom cameras still setting around, never really a popular seller IIRC, so I don't really know the merits of the camera...
