Many, many years ago I used to do B&W photography which I developed and printed myself (my school had its own darkrooms).

Anybody on here still do it the old fashioned way, with film and a darkroom?

Ah, the old days of hair dryers and clothes pegs. Remember them well...

Happily long gone now, in favour of chips and inkjets - I do miss that developer smell though...

There's the difference between photography and IT.

In IT, that "developer smell" is B.O.

I still do a little bit of black and white.
I develop the films myself but there's no where in the house for a dark room, so I then scan them into the computer.

I do the same at the moment, I have all the darkroom stuff ready for when Dad redecorates the utility room.

How do you scan yours in btw? My scanner has adjustments for gamma, contrast, etc. but I can't seem to find the 'off' button for these things! Which is a shame as no matter what colour filter I put on the images all turn out the same.

Still develop some films in the bathroom/darkroom but all my printing is done after scanning the negs onto computer. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

In answer to the original question, I have just started shooting film again, just for the fun of it. B&W, hand process then scan & inkjet.

I've still got a Cold Cathode Black & White
enlarger ... it IMO gave a much nicer quality than
those 'modern' B & W enlargers with Light Bulbs.

I last used it in 1989!!!!

I've accumulated so many then good, but now worthless manual focus film cameras over the years .....
it's all a bit sad.
