Just a bit of fun and an excuse to play with the clamps and suckers and also experiment with the new remote control unit I got.
Never done self portrait driving shots before.
Now need something with a longer lever arm to get it right out off the car...

Was this the remote release from German ebayer? If so any probs to mention with unit or delivery etc? Nice pics ![]()
I have the remote release from the German bloke on e-bay and the service was excellent. The release itself is a little plasticy but works well and you can't complain compared to the price of the original Canon part!
Yep, it's from that German seller. The first one sent through had a faulty charger unit but when I pointed this out he sent another one through with no quibbles. The transmitter could do with being a bit beefier but it all seems to work OK.
I was driving slowly in second gear, trying to reduce jerkiness and vibration as much as possible, I experimented with four, six and ten second exposures, with and without flash. In order to get an ultra-crisp image, many magazine photographers insist on the engine being switched off and the car being pushed (giving away trade secrets
) so vehicle speed is not a priority.

Gonna bite and ask the obvious question. How did you do that last effect?
Ditto. Thats excellent!
Sorry chaps, only just noticed your posts, otherwise I'd have responded earlier.
I can't remember the name of the PS filter which I used to get the effect (I'm at work with no PS on my computer) but will have a look tonight.
It didn't take long to get the desired effect in any case...
