Anyone used MPB for offloading gear?

Used many times, very straightforward and hassle free.

Bought and sold with them and never had a bad experience.

They are surprisingly good and prices offered are reasonable. Other companies also buy and sell used kit, like Park Cameras, Wex, Mifsuds, LCE etc but I've not tried those.

I think recently they have been trading on their reputation as the market leader. I would also look at LCE or WEX, especially if you can go into a local branch and deal face to face.

I've used them loads for buying and selling.

No major issues, of course, sometimes things do go wrong, but they've always got it right in the end. You can end up waiting a long time on the phone sometimes....

WEX are good too, but sometimes only offer credit depending on the item. LCE is another option too.

Yep - always good to deal with as long as you've been fair describing the condition of key. Much less hassle than eBay.

Used them a few times, always fine. LCE is my first choice though, helps to keep camera stores on the high street, and I generally find them a little cheaper than MPB.

Recently used Park Cameras. I have no criticism of the process, including money offered. Recommended.

Someone asked about eBay equivalent. Hassle free is worth a bit.

WEX took quite a bit of stuff but wasn't interested in some other bits that MPB appear to be happy to sell.

Would anyone happen to know how MPB work, regarding vat? Im vat registered, so kit i sell needs to have vat on top

Managed to find the answer if anyone interested - Their price is their price, so they just adjust the price to include the vat...

.. which is a little sneaky if you ask me. As they are a vat registered business, they can claim that vat back. So they make more profit, and me as the seller gets less, as i have to give the vat collected to hmrc.

Oh well, like some say, overall benefit is no hassle compared to ebay, which is sometimes worth paying a little premium for

So presumably before quoting they ask if you're VAT registered?

Used MPB for years to sell high-end and mid-range gear and buy from them. Never any problems and I always find their buy price fair. On a couple of occasions when selling to them they contacted me and said my description of "excellent condition" was wrong they described it as "mint condition" and increased their price to me.

That's immoral IMHO; they know they're cutting the amount you get by 20%. Perhaps their justification is that you reclaimed VAT when you bought them.

Then again if you sold the stuff on eBay you'd have to absorb the VAT in the sale price, unless you made it very clear in the advert that it was +VAT.
