Spent a bit of time playing with my tripod trying to capture some arty shots of my horn.
Comments welcome.
Used a Canon S70, combination of apertures to get big/small depth of fields, combination of manual/auto/macro focusing.
Shrunk from 3072x2306 to 800x600 on Paint.NET. Sorry about the number of pics, but liked all of these!

excellent quality of image! Not keen on the reflections though in the top couple - bit difficult not to catch extraneous light though I guess due the the curved surface..

Cheers! Agreed about the reflections - It was just sitting on the sofa in the living room watching TV, when I decided to have a crack, so the rest of the room is reflected as I didn't try to do anything about it. Tried to make a feature of it in the later ones (the fact that you can see me/tripod/camera reflected!)

How would you go about getting better contrasts? Post-production?
Oh yes, that's where the secret lies. Check levels for starters and tweak to taste, eg get the blacks black and the whites white.

Funnily enough there seems to be more contrast in some of the other shots.
If they're all as shot, I suspect that's due to brighter light in some and/or more glinty bits.
Here you go - a bit of twiddling works wonders

Ah ha! That's where the 'grey' background is better than black would be imho. The texture would also work but the way it sort of gives the impression of curving up to the top left is a little distracting.
Still, nothing a new sofa wouldn't fix ...

Nah, it's a print of a picture by Kandinsky, got it from a local art shop
