Can anyone point me in the direction of a rig for mounting a camera on a moving vehicle? I have googled and found full movie camera rigs, but it seems slight overkill for just an SLR with 16-35 or fisheye on it. I am looking for something a bit more substantial than just a sucker cup though, to let me mount the camera a foot or two off to the side of the vehicle. High speeds are not required.

Tips on sources of both sales or rentals are equally helpful :)

Brilliant - thanks!

Have you used these at all? Are the pretty straightforward to fit?

Quite a few of us from here use them. I used a bracket on a Caterham and it was rock solid - easy to fit - The suction mounts stay put, just don't leave it on the inside of a windscren in direct sunlight for ages, I've seen a winscreen split due to this.

Matt has the most complicated hague setup - but gets (IMHO) the best results www.mattwatkinson.com/galleries/index.htm

Yep, Matt's rig shots are a thing of beauty. Careful though, I believe his is a custom built B-Hague jobby which allows the camera to be further away from the car body than the standard ones do.
