We've just had the mother of all thunderstorms in Peterborough, 2 or 3 storms at all at once, with (at least) 1 strike hitting something...
anyway, here is a couple of shots of the lighting. enjoy!

Tall Paul,
How do you take a photo of lightning?? You must have quick reactions
Quite simple really...
I used 30sec shutter speed, then played about with the apertue (1st pic was f19, 2nd f9.5) to get the right exposure, its a bit hit and miss until you get a good setting (thank god for digital!).
Manual focus set @ infinty, low iso, then point the camera towards the strikes on a decent tripod.
The 1st photo was two seperate storms/strikes, I was sometimes getting upto 8/10 seperate flashes of lightning per exposure tonight, unfortunalty mostly sheet lightning.
A lot of luck comes into it, but with a long shutter speed, you have more chance of getting a strike on film/CCD
Cheers
