I have a Canon S1 iS and was wondering whether it is possible to fit a polarizing filter to it (colours always look very washed out)? Or is this only something that is possible on dSLRs?

Thanks

It is possible with the S1

According to dpreview and Google you'll need a lens adapter (Canon part 9223a001) and then a 52mm circular polarising lens.

Lensmate produce a great range of adapters for use with Canon cameras. They have metal threads and a lot of people swear by them.

Check Their Canon S1 IS page:

www.lensmateonline.com/buy5.html

There are example images there as well.

I have seen the adaptors on ebay for around £10-£15.
