OK.....so after checking if I had the latest firmware on my EOS 300D I found out I can apply a hacked version of the firmware which allows some functionality that was only available on the better EOS 10D such as mirror lock and 3600 ISO speeds!

Has anyone done this and does it work ok? As far as I'm aware it is possible to revert back to the 1.1.1 OEM Canon firmware so that's ok but I don't want to screw up my camera and then get left with nothing!

Did it to my old 300D, worked a treat, although not quite making it a 10D, it did give a few extra (and useful) options.

Do it, but follow the instructions to the letter.

Went fine, but as always, follow the instructions after reading them properly. Its not scary, but its a procedure that needs to be followed.

Fairly easy to revert back too. You need to re-set any Custom functions to standard values then re-flash with Canon's own latest Firmware.

Well worth doing as it enables a few useful options as mentioned.

It's ISO 3200 by the way

This has two modded versions. For safetys sake, download the Wasia firmware. This is the original and I can vouch....the one that works!
