Where the hell is Monkey world? I want to go. The closest I got to that was the VW garage in Oxford - actually I think that was lesser primates than monkeys. Anyway....
I'm no wildlife guru but: Great compositions there - perhaps it was a little dark (was it indoors?), focusing seems a tad fuzzy? Did you sharpen them when you re-sized for the web? IMHO all digital pics need sharpening when resized.
If I have a decent composition I sometimes highlight the eyes and sharpen them a little if I can. Our eyes always go there first.
of course, sometimes you can't get anywhere near the bimmin' eyes
Nice work

Monkey world is good for piccies:
WRT to the original post - As GetCarter says, all would benefit from a bit of sharpening.
Try a couple of runs of unsharp mask, one with a high radius (which will improve contrast) and one with a smaller radius for sharpness.
Steve, you are right about the getting the eyes too, sometimes you just can't:
Is this PH's first monkey thread to go with the dog and cat ones?

Yeah - I was there a few weeks ago.
Had a brilliant brilliant time there.
Easily spend the whole day there.
Got tons of pics from there .... just gotta post a good selection up on the web.
But well well worth it.
And yeah - it's near the tank museum/Wool/Chesil beach - kinda west of Postsmouth.

That's great, just look at those expressions ! A bit of tweaking in Photoshop and it'll be even better. Shame about the dull light, but I still think you got some good shots there - I've just realised that no.3 is telling you what he thinks of photographers !

Simpo has a showcase-class monkey shot - was that taken at monkey world?
Well I wasn't going to hijack but seeing as you asked
- taken at Colchester Zoo. D70 and 70-300ED.
Somehow when you dump the colour they become more than photographs of monkeys, but compositions.
