I'm wondering if these are "safe", and won't melt the insides of my camera.

I want to buy a spare battery for my EOS 300D and at £4.99 the non Canon batteries seem a bargain (ok....postage on top but still cheap).

What do you all reckon? Any experiences?

Ta! :)

I'm using one now in my D50 - again £4.99 uk seller - no postage.

I've taken around 2-300 pics so far and the charge is still showing strong and everything seems fine - Have got a fully charged Nikon in my bag as well tho' just in case.

Even if it does not last as long as a Nikon at 1/4 the price I'm not overly concerned and it will do as an "end of day" backup.

Cheers

I got one from 7dayshop, no problems at all, still going strong a year later.

I have an ebay special for the D70 and 2 for the D100. Use nothing else really. Never had a problem and they last as long as the Nikon ones did - when I used them.

Use EBay 511s in my 20D all the time, they usually last longer than the Canon ones - !!!

7dayshop one is fine.

Just one thing, they aren't a "perfect" match, and so get "stuck" in the battery grip extender. I've put my two pukka Canon ones in mine, and use the others to just put into the camera.

From my experience, 3rd party ones, don't give an accurate low power reading as the manufactured ones.

My "branded" says full power, until the very end, when I might get one or two shots of half power, then dead.
