Can anyone recommend a good system to trigger studio flash heads without a lead attached to the camera.

Please explain. Why are they pants?

cos the leads fall out the back.. the connections are weak and they don't fire 10% of the time.. in particular when you rotate the camera to portrait and the camera is inbetween the one on the hot shoe and the one on the pack.... when they fail to fire.. you wiggle it (sender unit)and its fine... but its always on the shot you want that they fail..

so in conclusion.... pants

Pocket wizards are best. I use Wein which I think are better than Bowens as they only fail 2% of the time

Rex and I use Pocket Wizards (his actually if we're being pedantic).

Used them yesterday with some Elinchrome 600s for a shoot and they were excellent - invaluable I'd say.

Really give you total freedom - have a range of 1600ft !!! (I am never more than about 10' feet from the lights, so no problems with range)

My next problem is how to get rid of my USB2 cable and make that wireless too... (and no, the WFT-E1 is too slow).

Joe.
