Love the door.

The conker is positively naughty!

Good work.

£45 and it's yours (if you can read the sign on it's arm)

I'd not thought of that until you mentioned it, and now you mention it, it is rather isn't it.

I'd like to think that the conker fell in there by chance - the log was under a conker tree...

I love all of these, I noticed the conker in the comp thread and thought "wow"

I often look at some of the pics on this site and am completely bemused by how some of you guys 'see' this stuff

Rather than the obvious anser (thank you simpo!), I have to say that I usually get much better images if I take my time to ensure I look around when taking pictures.

I tend to "scan around", and when something catches my eye, walk around it at different angles to see if there is something special about it.

I then think about the composition, and as I'm digital, take 3 or four of a few different types. Then I generally review them on the screen, and the one that takes my eye, I then work on that.

The conker one I noticed as I happened to look down whilst walking straight past it. I then tried a straight down shot, an sideways and that lengthways shot. The lengthways one looked best for me, so I rattled off three different shots, all with different f-stops to change the DoF, reviewing them when I got back and i picked that one.

Glad you liked it, and as they always say, practice makes much better pictures.
