This may be more suited to the Computers and IT section but on the basis I'm more likely to understand you lot smile ....

I volunteer with a group that looks after seven acres of public-access green space. We've a couple fields, a bit of woods, a historic monument, etc. It's a pleasing rural location set in what is a largely rural wider area and as such, attracts quite a variety and abundance of wildlife.

We've been talking about installing a network of cameras and linking these to create a permanent live-stream of the area, focusing on the parts we know to be quite active with creatures.

There's some money in the pot and the potential for a grant from a Wildlife Trust if we can demonstrate the ability to further awareness of nature amongst the community - which I think this would do. So, we're embarking on a bit of fact-find to see what might be possible.

I'm a semi-pro photographer and videographer but admit to knowing little if anything about this particular subject so keen to hear of any insights and experience others may have had.

Key challenges we see are:

Power - wondering if it possible to rig some inconspicuous solar panels to avoid having to change batteries.
Can we give people the opportunity to control some cameras from their phone/computer - zoom, pan, etc...?
How we link the cameras - local wifi network?
And good cameras to consider - capable of both day and night vision.

Any pointers gratefully received.
