I'm afraid you'll have to put up with more pictures from me

After a trip upto Norwich I now have a shiny new camera waiting for its battery to charge. First stop was a Jessops in the new shopping centre, the only problem being the numty who tried to help knew nothing about the model I was interested in and then tried to fit a random lens on it :shoot:
We walked up to the other older Jessops and found a very helpful friendly bloke that let me try the Canon 350d and Minolta D5. Had a play with both for about half an hour and then decided to go and have a think. After about an hour I returned and bought done the deal. New camera that I don't have to pay for until next July and a free Epson picture mate thrown in aswell! I hadn't planned to buy today but with the interest free credit I figured there was no reason not to.
So any bets on what the camera is?.......
I ended up going for the Minolta, against what most have said and even the Jessops manager was surprised but it felt comfier to handle and more solid. It has everything I was after with the added bonus of AS. I have no previous lenses so that didn't tie me to a make and the fact it has had £100 knocked off seemed a bit of a bargain.
All in all I'm chuffed and looking forward to getting out and using it.

Excellent!
Now start throwing money at it!!
Lenses, pods(mono and tri), memory cards, batteries, storage device, backpack, photoshop books, flashes, remotes, etc, etc, etc....!
Ebay currently has over 10,000 digicam accessory listings, get stuck in (especially as you're not paying for it yet
) )

Nah, the one with the big wheelarches - if you remember that old TV advert?
Well done Karlos, the Minolta looks like an interesting camera and I have a small admiration for people who don't follow the herd. I haven't tried one but thoroughly approve of the knobs and buttons as opposed to menus. If Minolta had hit the DSLR market a bit earlier, things might be different.
My only advice is (1) read the manual (2) get a spare battery. Oh yes, and start saving for bolt-on toys

Just bought two sandisk cards and two batteries from ebay, all in £50. And now I'm about to ransack the folks house while they are on their hols, I'm sure there is a camera bag floating around somewhere. All thet's left is to put the printer that came with it on ebay, anybody want an Epson photomate printer?
