Bending Spoons recently bought Vimeo. When they previously bought WeTransfer and Filmic, they laid off staff, put up prices, and invested little in development of processes. They’ve just sacked a significant proportion of Vimeo staff, including engineers and I have the feeling changes in the pricing structure are not too far in the future. Who could have guessed?

Has anyone any personal recommendations for add-free video-hosting site alternative? I obviously don’t mind paying a reasonable amount for the privilege. I know of Wisteria but know no one who uses it and I'm wary of online reviews. I’d like to move away from US-hosting. AI not required.

All I need it for is video linked to my website.

I was a heavy user of Vimeo and pulled back a year ago because it suddenly became, well, st.

This would explain why.

Haven't renewed my subscription (was on pro).

I use frame.io these days. It's far more useful. It doesn't look quite as nice as Vimeo does (or did) but as a functional hosting, sharing, commenting, type platform I find it excellent. I think it's a one time payment type thing as well.

Thanks for that, Stevie. I thought Vimeo had suffered a bit recently but assumed I was overreacting.

Nothing stays just what you need forever.

Do you mean Wistia?

I’ve been using them for about 10 years, great product, loads of functionality, customer service is superb too

That'll teach me not to review my posts. Or might not.

It was my first thought, but I know little about alternatives. I've gone in blind before and it didn't work out.

Thanks for the recommendation.
