The girlfriend is looking after this dog for a family member, so myself being a deprived individual and left pet-less so far in my life, I enjoyed the chance to photograph an animal for once.

Unfortunately I also realised they don't play ball when it comes to cameras and are a bit harder/less predictable than cars! After a lot of blurry photos of the back of his head I found the best way to get him to look at the camera was to hold it on the floor away from my face. With no viewfinder and pure guess-work this is the only shot I took like this:

[pic]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/PhilS/17606848.jpg[/pic]

That is the full un-cropped frame! It was taken using my 'lets get muddy' 18-55 EF-S lens with the built in flash on shutter priority mode (ISO 400 1/250 at F5.4) - it was dusk and playing havoc with the metering!

A bit disheartening that it was the best photo of the bunch and completely down to luck :hehe:

Your dog seem to be natural when posing in front of camera !!

My dog has a great nose - he never fails to find a lost bird. Not a great shot but as I took it on Saturday I thought it was topical.

My aunt's P&J:

The older one, happy to sit and pose:

The younger one, less amenable to the camera:

the second is a very good pic but it expresses my dog perfectly.
