Not at www.nikon.co.uk it isn't. Click on 'What's New' and you get the D50:

www.europe-nikon.com/default.aspx?

It's also gone from the link you gave: still flogging the D100 FFS.

Want to confirm a Nikon story? Yer best bet is to check the Jap site for the news/press releases I think...

Spec looks to be between the 20D and the 5D.

At around £1000-1200, it would certainly bother Canon.

So, dear experts, why get a D2X over the D200? 12 vs 10 Mpx - bit academic, really. What are the killer features?

Probably build quality I suspect. The D2X is built like a tank whereas D200 looks more lightweight. For a pro who has to depend upon their gear this may be the difference, for amateurs who look after their kit the cost saving looks very attractive.

Full 20 page review here: www.letsgodigital.org/html/review/nikon/d200/dslr_EN1.html with a good comparison chart between d100 and comparable canons.

F8ck me, it's actually happened.

www.europe-nikon.com/details.aspx?countryid=20&languageid=22&prodId=1100&catId=91

www.dpreview.com/news/0511/05110104nikond200.asp

2.5" monitor, 100ISO (to shut the Canonites up :, vertical grip, cable release...

'Image overlay function creates a composite image in-camera from two selected NEF (RAW) images. The original files remain unaltered, opacity can be precisely controlled and the resultant image can be saved in either RAW, JPEG or TIFF format.'

...18-200 AF-S VR lens... dribble...

I'll have to find my credit card (it's currently whimpering under the sofa) and give it a good beating I think

So that's decided on the camera that's heading for New Zealand, then, eh?

hmm...... I think there may soon be a D200 sized hole in my bank balance!

Wonder how the whole supply/demand thing will be at the beginning.

Hang on chaps...

It doesn't have 16MP
It doesn't have 6400 ASA with no noise
It doesn't have Multi-CAM5000 with 18 points including 9 cross-points
It doesn't have a high-speed 10FPS mode
It doesn't have a 1/2000 sec. flash sync that works with any old flash
It doesn't have a 100x viewfinder with interchangeable focussing screens
It doesn't have a titanium alloy body that is waterproof to 10 meters
It doesn't have anti-gravity so that it can weight 5 lbs when I shoot and 5 ounces when resting around my neck
Wireless and GPS are extra cost options
And to top it all off, it costs more then $1000!!!

What were you thinking Nikon? Asleep at the switch again?

Sigh.

So much for putting a 427 into the Lumina...

Prediction for 2017. Probably about November. I think Pistonheads will see this post:

Anyway, it LOOKS from the spec like just the camera we've been waiting for! When the price comes down to - oh, say - £999 (and the first early batches have been out and any gremlins caught) I want one!!

Hmm - but.....

No internal viewfinder shutter

Bv663r! I sold my remote release and they've brought back the ten-point connector

Whoops - starting to sound like Simpo, there!

Mirror lock up and a decent grip! More compatability with non-cpu lenses!

Then again - listen to this: www.dpreview.com/articles/NikonD200/Samples/Audio/raw-d200-eos5d.mp3

(Sad, isn't it - I've come over all )

Actually that was a quote from Nikonians which if interpreted correctly means the camera already has more features than you could have dreamed possible for the price

Can't get any prices or dates from UK suppliers but the US is buzzing; subject to warranty I'll get mine from there. Faster and cheaper.

NB I'm surprised there's no sign of the D200 on eBay from the likes of DigitalRev etc. Where are they?

certainly looks that way. And way beyond the list of things which we have listed (or whinged about - perhaps "whinged" is a bit too strong, though) on previous threads that would make the D70 perfect!
